JOINT PROJECTS OF NAA WITH PARTNER INSTITUTIONS 2008/2009•
 
SOCIETE GENERALE EXPRESSBANK supports two month stay of teachers and students of NAA in the Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris. During the annual exhibitions of diplomaed MA at Academia Gallery, the results of the competition for the students under the residential program for creative specialization in Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris with the support of SOCIETE GENERALE EXPRESSBANK, were announced. The contest was won by MA: Yordana Koeva, Mural Painting Magdalena Nikolova, Textiles Svilena Koleva, PaintingDiana Georgieva, Graphics•
 
Within the frame of the exhibition of BA (Union of Bulgarian Artists, 6 Shipka Str.) the traditional prizes of the contest, announced by the NAA and Societe Generale Expressbank for diplomaed BA at NAA – graduates 2008/2009, have been awarded. First Prize was received by: Dilyana Dimitrova, TextilesFour equal prizes went to: Maria Ivanovich, Ceramics Krassen Troanski, Porcelain and GlassGeorgi Mitev, Painting Albena Georgieva, Book and Printed Graphics •
 
Cultural partnership project between NAA and SOCIETE GENERALE EXPRESSBANK for exhibitions of teaching staff and students in the halls of the bank. •
 
NIGHT OF MUSEUMS In collaboration with the French Cultural Institute in Sofia. SENSORIA – Digital Arts Program, NAA; Workshop of Textile and Metal Departments at Academia Gallery. •
 
POETRY ON THE WALL The implementation of the European multiannual Poetry on the Wall project, successfully continues in collaboration with the diplomatic body. This project is the first attempt in Bulgaria for a major display of art and literature outside the exhibition halls, museums and libraries. By socializing them, this project makes its contribution in shaping the present-day outlook of Sofia as a modern, European capital. During the period the projects of the following countries were completed: Austria with author: Georgi Yankov and Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nikolay Mladenov; Estonia with author: Prof. Lachezar Lozanov. •
 
BNB (Bulgarian National Bank) In 2008, NAA participated and won the procedure, announced by BNB, for selection of artist under order with subject “Painting of Oil Portraits of Presidents of BNB”. The portraits have been painted by Prof. Toma Varbanov and Senior Lecturer Rossen Toshev are and displayed at the official gallery of BNB, 1, Sq. Knyaz Alexander I, Sofia. During the year projects under contracts with the Institute for Archaeology and Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Karrat Group PLC have been finalized. •
 
RECYCLING OF MEMORY Joint two-year project for exhibition of students from the National Academy of Art, Sofia and the North Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Jonsuu, Finland. •
 
THE LANTERN A project incorporating a cycle of lectures entitled The Lantern of Anton Mitov and his Followers Today, 2008/2009 is completed in collaboration with the Cultural Program of Sofia Municipality. This project renews the forgotten cultural history of public lectures delivered by Prof. Anton Mitov. Today, this tradition is resumed by teachers (eminent artists and art historians of NAA) who deliver public lectures and talks on art before the wide audience. Eighteen lectures were delivered, which aroused big interest among citizens of Sofia, students of NAA and pupils from high schools in art. •
 
THE NEWSPAPER Students from Penninghen University for Graphic Arts in Paris and the University for Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, together with their counterparts from the National Art Academy, Sofia (Book and Printed Graphics Department, Poster and Visual Communication Department and Advertising Design Department) worked on visualization on a theme entitled the Newspaper. After Sofia (May 2008) the results of the project were presented in Paris (October 2008) and Strasbourg (November 2008). •
