The fourth edition of the "Exhibitions of Alumni from the National Academy of Art" project presented the art of tomorrow

Over 250 graduates from all BA and MA programmes of the National Academy of Art presented their achievements in 21 exhibitions in 15 gallery spaces in Sofia, Bankya and Burgas. During June and July 2026, exthibitions attracted hundreds of art lovers and connoisseurs, and with its fourth edition, the project "Exhibitions of Alumni from the National Academy of Art" provided wide visibility for the new generation of visual artists, establishing their presence on the contemporary art scene.
The fourth edition of the project is part of the events programme to mark the 130th anniversary of the National Academy of Art, founded as State School of Drawing in 1896.
The project is based on the striving for the works, created in the process of learning, to reach their natural environment–the exhibition space and the viewer. Thus, graduation becomes not just the end of an educational stage, but first professional appearance of young artists on the art scene. The BA and MA graduates' projects, which have been created by applying classical and innovative approaches, cover a wide range of directions in the visual and applied arts, design, digital arts, photography and new medium are distinguished with conceptual maturity, high technical and plastic-art realisation and developed artistic style.
The project is implemented with the financial support of Sofia City Municipality – Calendar of Cultural Events, with the assistance of Burgas Municipality and within the framework of 2026 Competition for Funding Projects on the Scientific Research and Artistic Activities at the National Academy of Art.
