Playing Tools MA

Toys have a great impact on development, education, training and building the child during the first seven years of his life. During these years the child changes, both physical and psycho-emotional and intellectual, are very dynamic. This requires very precise addressing of toys by age characteristics. You can say ‘good toy is like a good teacher’, the opposite is also true for the inappropriate one. The design of toys is a responsible activity which must be addressed after accumulating the required minimum knowledge about the issues. The designer by triggering specific actions that the child performs with a toy is indirectly involved in the proper development and adaptation to the social environment.
The essence of training is based on extensive scientific studies and analysis in the design of subject-dimensional environment of the child.
The course is designed to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to all aspects of design, production and use of toys.
In the Design course students develop a choice of tasks of the following areas:
– Toys characterized by age;
–Toys characterized by type of game;
–Toys characterized by developing function;
–Toys characterized by material;
–Toys characterized by dimentions.
By designing a specific product students work on functional, aesthetic, technological and design, ergonomics, social, integration, environmental and others problems.
Teaching is closely linked with the subjects ‘Space, Color, Design’, ‘Design Specifications’, ‘Applied Graphics’ and others.
Teaching forms in students a creative attitude, deepens knowledge of process and design approach to solving the problems set.
An important place in training is given to the Bulgarian and European safety standards on toys. Students gather, examine and analyze extensive information material concerning various aspects of the development problem selected.
