Assoc. Prof. Venelin Shurelov, PhD, delivered a lecture on Practices in Digital Art to students at the Burgas Branch of the National Academy of Art
The lecture on Practices in Digital Art delivered by Assoc. Prof. Venelin Shurelov, PhD, to students from the National Academy of Art – Burgas Branch, students from Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National School of Music and Stage Art in Burgas, and guests provoked great interest. The artist presented the main characteristics of digital art and projects of prominent artists from the international art scene.
Venelin Shurelov showed some of his completed projects, such as: Fantomat Monologue (2007), Man ex Machina (2011), DORA Lamp 2.0 (2013), ROTOR (2016), and One Man (2019).
The main focus of the presentation were the Master's degree programme in Digital Arts taught at the National Academy of Art and the International Digital Art Festival DA Fest organised by the National Academy of Art and DA Lab Foundation. The DA Fest events include audio-visual, theatre and dance performances, art exhibitions, video art screenings, lectures and presentations, creative workshops and concerts that showcase the diverse research and artistic practices in the field of digital arts. In October 2023, the ninth edition of the festival will be held in Sofia.
