Photography enthusiasts and photo enthusiasts who value water as one of nature's most important resources are invited to participate in Canon's new photo competition and win an EOS R10 kit with RF-S 18-45mm 4.5/6.3 IS STM lens. The winner will also benefit from an exclusive trip to Istanbul and a personal mentoring session from Canon Ambassador Lorenz Holder.
Canon CEE announces a competition for photographers to showcase their keen eye, creative flair and technical skills in capturing water in its most untamed form. The contest is free to enter and all photography enthusiasts are invited to submit their water-inspired photo. Photographers are invited to be "inspired by water" and capture it with precision and artistic flair to tell a unique water photo story. This year's theme gives participants the opportunity to observe water in its purest form and capture its exquisite appearance in a photograph captured with detail and technical skill.
The "Get Inspired by Water" theme makes water the protagonist and invites photography enthusiasts to explore the dazzling nature and purity of water. Canon challenges participants to be creative, look for inspiration in a unique water scene and capture the moment with a deep sense of the tenderness and grace of water – with or without the presence of a person in the picture. It can be a water scene frozen in time, a photograph of a strong human emotion highlighted by water, or the tranquility of water in nature.
To create award-worthy photography, participants can shoot day or night, indoors or outdoors, use different light sources, reflections and refractions, freeze the action or create optical illusions. To enter the contest, applicants must submit an image with a resolution of at least 150 dpi and a size of at least 2000 pixels on the long side no later than December 12, 2022. The image must not be heavily edited or manipulated. Entrants may not submit images that have previously won an award or been honored. The winner will be selected between 13 and 23 December 2022 by a jury including Canon Ambassador Lorenz Hölder and announced at the end of December. The winner will receive a Canon EOS R10 kit with RF-S 18-45mm 4.5/6.3 IS STM lens (worth over €1,000) and a personal mentoring session from Canon ambassador Lorenz Hölder.
Contest ambassador Lorenz Hölder is a renowned photographer and winner of multiple Red Bull Illume awards. Lorenz lives in Freising, Germany and specializes in sports photography as well as landscape and architectural photography. The winner of the competition will meet Lorenz in Istanbul for a personal mentoring session to capture the breathtaking waterscapes and treasures of Istanbul with the new EOS R10 mirrorless camera.
The Canon EOS R10, which is also the top prize, is an incredibly versatile camera that can handle almost anything – including water splashes in their perfect form – and is the perfect partner for realizing creative and artistic ideas.
The competition is open for entry from 00:01 BST on 1 November until 23:59 on 12 December 2022.
