DA FEST 10 – æŋˈzaɪəti (Anxiety): Signals from an Uncertain World

From 21st to 25th of October, Sofia is hosting the International Digital Art Festival DA Fest 10 organised by DA LAB and the National Academy of Art.
The 10th edition of DA Fest presents 14 exhibitions, 5 performances, 5 screening programmes, as well as a series of lectures, presentations and workshops, among which are the workshops “Sensing the Internet” by Dmitry Morozov and “softW(i)re of Care: Affective Techno-Touch and Intimate Circuits” by Cristina Dezi, which will take place in 15 locations in the capital city.

The official start of DA Fest 10 is on October 21, when the exhibitions from the festival programme will be opened – UNI-HYbr:ID by Carsten Nikolai / a.k.a. ALVA NOTO/, the solo exhibition by Pipilotti Rist, Cascade by Marc Vilanova, Membranes by Nicola L. Hein and Lucas Truniger, UNDER PRESSURE by the Berlin duo mots, Fluid Architectures, Marginal project curated by Andrei Tudose / Marginal with the participation of Vitaly Yankovy, Cristian Eduard Drăgan, Lorena Cocora, Alexandra Costea and Sabina Suru, and The other – no other than the self? by the duo ninavale (Nina Kovacheva and Valentin Stefanov), ACV (Algorithmic Cultural Vandalism) by Pietro Lugaro and Alessandro Mc-Nelly, an exhibition with 4 works–Biosymbiotic Exoskeleton by Dorothea Dolinšek, The Metaphase Sound Machine, Navigator and Drop by Dmitry Morozov ::vtol::, The Secret Network of Mycelium (video) by Veneta Androva and Between This and That is It and Sweepcase by Antoni Rayzhekov and Martin Murer. A selection of animation Ars Electronica Animation Festival 2024 On Tour will also be presented.

The first exhibition has already been opened at the Liszt Institute Sofia.
DA Fest is organised by the DA LAB Foundation and the National Academy of Art, and its program is implemented with the support of the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan, the National Culture Fund, Sofia City Municipality, the Embassy of France / French Institute in Bulgaria, the Liszt Institute / Hungarian Cultural Institute, the Goethe Institute and the Austrian Embassy.
DA Fest 10 is part of the Cultural Events Calendar of Sofia City Municipality for Year 2025.
The festival is taking place within the framework of the 2025 Competition for Funding Projects on the Scientific Research and Artistic Activities at the National Academy of Art and under BG-RRP-11.016 Grant Scheme Presentation of Contemporary European Productions from the CTI Sector to the Bulgarian Audience, Investment: Development of the Cultural and Creative Sectors, Component: "Social Inclusion, National Recovery and Sustainability Plan.
The travel costs of one of the foreign participants covered by the Mobility Programme of the Sofia Culture Programme.
