The third edition of the Festival of Young People in Art – THE DEEP BLUE SEA – BURGAS 2023 – will take place in the area of Burgas Port Complex.

"Festival of Young People in Art – Burgas 2023" is a project whose main objective is to have an aesthetic environment built by forming of an arts centre in the areas round Marina Hotel and the Branch of the National Academy of Art in Burgas, which is located on the territory of the Port of Burgas. This festival edition in itself is an exchange of artistic practices between young and established artists from Bulgaria and abroad. New friends and like-minded people in the field of arts from the Burgas region will be attracted by means of workshops. Also, the establishment of connections between the National Academy of Art and the secondary schools in the Burgas region will be an excellent prerequisite for the young people to continue their education at the Academy.

The concentrated energy of young people will make the areas round Marina Hotel and the Port of Burgas a centre attractive to the cultural community, youth and tourists in Burgas. The printmaking base located in the seafront park is the place where workshops on various graphic techniques, work with clay and other activities will be carried out. It will also be possible to purchase artworks by both Burgas artists and students from the National Academy of Art outside the printmaking base building. In the area surrounding Marina Hotel and at other locations round the Port of Burgas, the artists will be creating temporary art installations and sculptures. .

In some Port of Burgas areas, students from the National Academy of Art and students from secondary art schools will create murals. The festival programme also includes art films screenings followed by discussions; meetings with famous Burgas cultural figures; visits to studios of artists and photographers; presentations and lectures by festival participants. The Center for Contemporary Art and Library – Burgas will host an exhibition of students from the Department of  Wood Carving, the subdepartment of Ceramics, the Department of Metal, and the subdepartment of Porcelain and Glass Design at the National Academy of Art.
