The Centre for Preservation and Development of Bulgarian Traditional Applied Arts at the National Academy of Art is presenting five degree programmes taught at the Faculty of Applied Arts and Design, National Academy of Art–Woodcarving, Ceramics, Textile – Art and Design, Metal, and Porcelain and Glass Design. The common aspects are the plastic and compositional issues that artists working in those fields express through the specific aesthetic qualities of each material.

Each academic degree programme presupposes multiple application opportunities by using various techniques in the process of fulfilling the individual tasks on the two levels of education.

The Centre for Preservation and Development of Bulgarian Traditional Applied Arts at the National Academy of Art is presenting two exhibitions in the town of Sliven. In Nova Gallery, visitors can view the educational assignments and projects realised under the degree programmes, while in May Gallery – the graduation projects of students pursuing the five degree programmes.

This particular diversity is emphasised by the small-size sculpture through to monumental sculpture, from design behaviour to artistic search. Particular genres, such as small sculpture, painting, printmaking, and other achieved through serigraphic, photographic and computer technologies are presented as well.

Partners in the exhibitions realisation are Dimitar Dobrovich Art Gallery – Sliven and the Branch of the Union of Bulgarian Artists in the town of Sliven.
