Invitation to participate in the International Scientific Conference "Scenography – Theory and Practice"

The conference is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Department of Scenography and the 130th anniversary since the founding of the National Academy of Art as State School of Drawing

The Organising Committee of the International Scientific Conference "Scenography – Theory and Practice" invites the academic and artistic communities in Bulgaria and abroad to participate in the forum. A round table/discussion will also take place within the framework of the conference, with a focus on topics related to the development of scenography in Bulgaria and around the world.

Participation format
In-person for participants residing in Bulgaria
In-person or remotely for participants residing abroad
Requirements for conference participation
– Each author can participate with up to 2 reports
– Working languages: Bulgarian and English
– Length of reports in their oral presentation: up to 15 minutes
– Deadline for submitting applications for participation (author's names, topic and abstract up to 200 words in Bulgarian and English): 20 June 2026;
– Completed Participation Form
– Compliance with the requirements for the texts and images of the publications
* Applications for participation are reviewed and approved by the Editorial Board of the forum based on the submitted abstracts. For inclusion of the texts in the refereed publication of the same name after the conference, only presented reports, which have successfully passed double anonymous scientific review, will be accepted, provided they have not been published elsewhere.
** Approved reports will be included in a peer-reviewed collection, which will be published and presented in 2027.
