National Academy of Art and China Academy of Art in Hangzhou signed Memorandum of Cooperation

On 28 October 2024, at an official meeting held in the Academic Council Hall at the National Academy of Art, Prof. Georgi Iankov, Rector of the National Academy of Art, and Prof. Shen Hao, Vice-Rector of the China Academy of Art, signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two institutions in the field of art education and scientific research, which aims to support and promote the exchange of experience in the field of scientific research, art and culture, organising of scientific forums, symposia and conferences, creation and implementation of joint educational programmes and projects, as well as realisation of student, academic and administrative staff mobility. The agreement between the two Academies includes the establishment of two International Research Centres for the Arts – one at the National Academy of Art in Sofia and one at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. With this act, the National Academy of Art became the first higher educational institution in Bulgaria to open its own research center in the People's Republic of China. A research centre of the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou will be opened at the National Academy of Art in Sofia.
