Why poster?
An impactful form that leaves no one indifferent, whips up, persuades, categorically declares its existence!
Why calligraphy?
The emotion of the letters and their combination, the communication of different graphic forms and styles – all these in a symbiosis with the artist's inner self in order to achieve the perfect delight from the visual perception of the final result.
Why limited?
A perfect combination of preparation, surface and technology to achieve an optimal result, and accordingly exclusivity, not mass production of the publication.
Calligraphy is magic. Calligraphy is a state of mind. Calligraphy is meditation, a path to yourself, but also a way of communicating with others. A way to express yourself, a way to involve others in this magic. For ten years now, the Master's degree programme in Calligraphy at the Department of Poster and Visual Communication has been preparing specialists in this field, all of them young people dedicated to the cause of calligraphy.

This publication is made possible within the framework of the 2025 Competition for Funding Projects on the Scientific Research and Artistic Activities at the National Academy of Art. The main image in the poster is created by Kostadin Kokalanov, who is part of the Master's Programme in Calligraphy. Snaga–the typeface used for the print run–is provided free of charge for the project purposes by Botyo Nikolchev (lettersoup.de) and Trifon Andreev (trifonandreev.com).
