Prof. Stanislav Pamukchiev was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Sofia

At a церемониал session dedicated to Sofia Day – 17 September, the Municipal Council of Sofia awarded Prof. Stanislav Pamukchiev with the title of Honorary Citizen of Sofia.
The award has also been granted to the writer Georgi Gospodinov, the poet Georgi Konstantinov, and the President of America for Bulgaria Foundation, Ms Nancy Schiller.
I have always thought that the title of Honorary Citizen of Sofia is given for doing something heroic. I had to get used to the artist's work being recognised as heroic. I strongly believe that if art and culture fulfill their purposes and functions to ennoble and uplift the spirit, then our benefit (of those who create culture) can return to society. And then we will not stand and grit our teeth against each other, stand devided... Art returns in the focus of public discourse.
