Retrospective Exhibition 60 Years of Design Education, 18–22 November 2024
Opening: 18 November (Monday), 6:00 pm, Big Hall, House of Architects
Union of Architects in Bulgaria, 11 Krakra Street, Sofia
The exhibition presents important moments from the last ten years in the Department's development at the National Academy of Art, which was founded in 1964 under the name of Industrial Forms (today Industrial Design), which is the first department in Bulgaria that trains specialists in the field of industrial design. Also, exhibited are educational andgraduation projects, and photographs of events.
As part of the events accompanying the anniversary celebration of the anniversary, the Scientific Conference "Design and Education" will take place in the House of Architects on 22 November 2024, beginning at 9:30 am.
The conference papers will cover the following thematic areas:
– Traditions and continuity in design education;
– Creative and innovative thinking in the design educational process;
– Regional and professional specifics of design education;
– Design methodology and research methodology applied in education;
– The theory and practice of industrial design and their relationship with the educational process;
– The application of the basics of design – composition, combinatorics, color science in design education;
– Multidisciplinarity of the design educational process – the connection with other fields of science and art;
– New technologies and modern means in the educational process;
– Current trends in design and their application in design education.
Conference working languages: Bulgarian and English
Participation in the conference is free.
Deadline for registration for participation: 18 November 2024 online registration form
Each paper should be presented in no more than 15 minutes.
The full text of the papers will be published in the DESIGN & APPLIED ARTS series.
Deadline for submitting the final texts for publication: by 28 February 2025
Participation: in person or via video conference call for participants from abroad and the region
The events are carried out as a result of the 2024 Competition for Financing Projects on the Scientific Research and Artistic Activities at the National Academy of Art, with the support of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria.
