Two Rectors in One Exhibition

On the occasion of 24th May – Day of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and Slavic literature, a joint poster exhibition of Prof. Georgi Iankov, Rector of the National Academy of Art in Sofia, and Prof. Błażej Ostoja Lniski, Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, will be presented in the gallery of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw, The exhibition is a an initiative within the long-standing partnership between the two art academies for the exchange of exhibitions, and student and teacher mobility.

 

During his visit (23–27 May 2022), Prof. Georgi Iankov will have meetings with teachers and students, and make visits to the ateliers at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

 

As an accompanying event, on 25th May 2022, starting at 12:00am in the cinema hall of the Academy in Warsaw, Ch. Asst. Prof. Dr. Svetlin Balezdrov, Department of Design in Advertising, National Academy of Art Sofia, will make a multimedia presentation "Bulgarian Cyrillic–Ancient and Modern, or Bulgarian Digital Design in the Digital Age."

 

The events will take place as part of the programme of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw, which this year celebrates its 70th anniversary.
