VI International Summer Academy and Symposium – Ahtopol 2014

From 1 to 10 September, 2014 in the art residence of NAA in the town of Ahtopol will be held the sixth edition of the International Summer Academy and Symposium – Ahtopol – unified academic project of the National Academy of Art. This year’s edition will be within ten days with the participation of lecturers and students from the Academy. Visiting Professor is Bernhard Gvigner  from the Mozarteum University, Austria.
 
The purpose of the academic project is to create works in the sculpture of wood, stone and metal and working with  graphic material – experimenting with alternative materials and techniques for graphic printing.
Sculptures will be completed within the symposium and exposed in the exterior spaces of the town. This will contribute to the aestheticism the town and will help the development of cultural tourism.
 
Participants:
Lecturers from NAA: Prof. Ivan Slavov - Metal Department, Prof. Angel Stanev – Department of Sculpture, Prof. Velislav Minekov, Momtchil Mirev – Department of Ceramics, Assistant Plamen Atanasov – Woodcarving Department,  Assoc. Prof.  Pencho Dobrev - Department of Mural Painting, students majoring in Woodcarving and Painting, led by PhD student Sandra Blazheva.

Guest lecturers from abroad are Assoc. Prof. Erkan Yilmaz from the Thracian University, Odrin, Turkey and Bernhard Gvigner from Mozarteum University, Austria.
 
International Summer Academy – Ahtopol, 2014 is supported by the Municipality of Tsarevo and Ahtopol Town Hall and with the support of Societe Generale Expressbank – a major partner of National Academy of Art.
