Visit of a delegation from Jingdezheng, China to the National Academy of Art

On 21 September 2023, a delegation from the city of Jingdezhen, China, visited the National Academy of Art. The delegation from Ceramic Culture and Tourism Company and Taosichuan Ceramic Art Center, Jingdezhen comprised: Liu Zili, Chairman Ceramic Art Tourism Group, Jingdezheng, Xiong Ke-Jia, Art Director of Ceramic Art Tourism Group, Yi Guangying, director of Taoxichuan Art Center, Huang Shuyao, deputy director Taoxichuan Gallery, Cheng Huaiyu, deputy director of Taoxichuan Art Center. The Chinese delegation was led by Prof. Asadur Markarov, a long-time lecturer at the Department of Textiles – Art and Design at the National Academy of Art and current professor at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou.
They were welcomed by the Management of the Academy – the Rector Prof. Georgi Yankov and the Vice-Rector Prof. D.Sc. Svilen Stefanov. The teacher Elizar Milev, PhD, Department of Ceramics and Porcelain and Glass Design at the National Academy of Art, was also present. During the meeting, the guests learned more about the history of the Academy and its structure. The future partnership relationships, the implementation of art residencies and student practices were also discussed. After the official meeting, the guests visited the ateliers of the Faculty of Fine Arts at 1 Shipka St. and of the Faculty of Applied Arts and Design at 73 Tsarigradsko shosse Blvd. and 100 G. M. Dimitrov Blvd.
The reason for their visit to Bulgaria is the opening, on 19 September at the National Exhibition of Arts and Crafts – Oreshak, Troyan Municipality, of the exhibition "Ceramic Traces – from East to East", presenting the contemporary ceramic art scene in China and the cultural connections between Bulgaria and People's Republic of China – the Silk Road. The curator of the exhibition is Prof. Assadour Markarov, and the curatorial team includes Elizar Milev, teacher at the Department of Ceramics and Porcelain and Glass Design.
