The exhibition Viva l’Accademia presents works by teachers from the National Academy of Art, who are actively creating in various fields of art–painting, printmaking, sculpture, poster, illustration, textiles, ceramics, digital arts and fashion design.
The National Academy of Art is a leading educational institution in the field of visual arts and such an exhibition project is necessary and important in order to see the current processes and trends taking place in it. Since its establishment, the Academy has played a fundamental role in building the cultural image and the development of artistic life in Bulgaria. On the threshold of its 130th anniversary, based on tradition and high cultural and educational criteria, always oriented towards the future and innovations, today the Academy is clearly visible on the European map and categorically asserts its place and presence.
The teachers at the National Academy of Art are prominent artists, who in parallel with their teaching activities successfully develop and establish their own artistic practices; and setting an example for their young colleagues is one of the most important aspects of student education.
Viva l’Accademia is the first in a series of exhibitions, which will be presented in 2026 and which aim to feature and promote the art of the Academy's teachers in Bulgaria and abroad.
The presenting of the National Academy of Art in the Bulgaria Gallery at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Rome is part of the programme for productive cooperation and implementation of joint projects.
