Department Fashion Design
The educational programmes taught at the Department of Fashion Design are designed to prepare specialists in the field of clothing design – designing of fashion production and unique collections and accessories, as well as forecasting the trends in fashion design. Fashion Design artists achieve their professional realisation by creating fashion collections – they develop the design projects and participate in their implementation.
Artists who have a BA degree in Fashion are also familiar with the general academic disciplines, such as Drawing, Colour Studies, History of Art, History of Clothing, etc.
The objectives of the Master's degree educational and qualification programmes inclide qualified preparation of students in the field of fashion industry and providing of assistance in the design process and realisation of own projects in the field of fashion design.
Students in the Department specialise in design of fashion collections which involves direct participation in the collections production by mastering the technical skills for the creation of own constructive solutions, by mastering the CAD-CAM systems for tailoring and grading models, and by familiarisation with new processes and technologies in industrial production.
Fashion Design graduates can work in design units at manufacturing enterprises, be part of management teams of consulting and advertising organisations, act as art directors, visual arts experts and others.
