Department Psychology of Art, Art Education and General Education Subjects

The Department comprises teaching staff from the Department of “Theory and Practice of Education in Art”,  MA Programs in “Psychology of Art” and  “Education in Art” as well as of the general subjects – “Philosophy” and  “Aesthetics”, “Foreign languages”, “Bulgarian Language for Foreigners”, “Management and Advertising” and “Sports”.

Department of “Theory and Practice of Education in the Art” aims at providing the students with knowledge and skills for planning, organizing and managing educational projects related to visual arts. The students graduating this specialty receive a diploma with professional qualification of teacher which entitles them to teaching visual arts in the educational system from first to twelfth grade. The acquired knowledge and skills allow the graduates to work successfully at all levels of general and specialized education in art.

The Master of Art Degree programs in “Psychology of Art:” and “Education in Art” provide specialized training which allows the MA degree holders to participate in psychological and educational research and experiments, based on art. The aims of these MA programs are associated with the acquisition of specialized skills for the application of various psychological and educational approaches to art.
