Department Woodcarving
Tuition principles in Woodcarving follow the deep-rooted national traditions in this specific field of art. Artists who have graduated in Woodcarving find wide application for their skills even though their task would require specific knowledge on a great variety of subjects. Training in the additional subjects allows solving of different tasks in the artistic and creative sphere. Experts in woodcarving should be able to take independent solutions on diverse artistic problems including individually designing, and creating, artistic products; and carrying out research and consultancy; they can also assume organizational and managerial duties.
BA holders in Woodcarving have been educated to create artistic products with specific knowledge and practical skills in design and construction of interiors and furniture, of objects for daily use, and of artistic objects for the exterior. They are also entitled to teaching in community centers, art courses and high schools for the arts if they have taken Theory and Practice of Education in the Arts as their second speciality.
MA holders have all the knowledge and skills of BA holders, but need to add to that their personal ability to work individually and produce one-of-the-kind objects of art. MA holders are entitled to teaching in higher schools.
