Advertising design is a type of creativity for visual information, communication and advertising. Its main characteristic is building of a conditional reality through short-term and spatially mobile visual images, carriers of certain social, cultural, commercial and advertising messages. The object of advertising design are the visual images at expos, exhibitions, pavilions, stands, showcases, museums, galleries, etc, mobile constructive-visual solutions of temporary interiors and exteriors, as well as all communication elements of the corporate style. It forms specific means of expression primarily from the sphere of plastic visual arts, but often, for a greater impact, means of expression from other arts are also incorporated in the information and communication processes – theatre, cinema, music, etc, and audio vision is normally used as an accompanying element.
 
The Department of Design in Advertising at the National Academy of Art strives to trains highly qualified specialists capable of performing artistic and creative design activities in the field of advertising design. Students are taught to design advertising panels and small sculptures, advertising showcases, advertising and exhibition stands, commercial and industrial exhibitions, commercial and advertising spaces, cultural exhibitions, museum exhibitions, temporary museum exhibitions, exhibitions for national participation in world exhibitions – EXPOs , as well as accompanying logos, fonts, exhibition graphics, advertising posters, billboards, souvenirs, flyers, catalogues, prospectuses, correspondence materials, banners, multimedia presentations, web advertising, etc. The Department of Design in Advertising carries out training for obtaining the three main educational degrees – Bachelor, Master, and Doctor.
