Exhibition | Typography, calligraphy and lettering experiments of lecturers in the Department of Book, Illustration, Printed Graphics at the National Academy of Art

The artists Regina Dalkalacheva, Kapka Kaneva, Krassimir Andreev, Emil Markov, Iliya Gruev, Boyana Pavlova, Mila Yaneva and Dora Ivanova, working in different fields of book art, illustration, type and graphic design, will present a series of works united in a common conceptual framework. Each artist, in accordance with their individual interests and creative pursuits, uses a variety of techniques and forms, and explores different aspects of the artistic and expressive possibilities of letter symbols and/or text as expressive means for communicating information and emotion layers, beyond the conventional and functional dimensions of written communication.
The exhibition is made possible within the framework of the 2026 Competition for Funding Projects on the Scientific Research and Artistic Activities at the National Academy of Art.
