Academia Gallery hosted the awarding ceremony for school students participants in the Art History competition

The awarding of the school students winners in the Art History competition took place on 17 June 2023 in Academia Gallery. The event was organised by Education without Backpacks Association and Khan Academy – the largest educational platform in the world, with the support of the US Embassy in Bulgaria.

 

The partner initiative is realided by the National Academy of Art and the Department of History of Art. Assoc. Prof. Boyka Donevska, PhD, Head of the department, delivered a lecture on modern art. The restorer Ivo Raykov presented to the audience intriguing facts about the art expert and restoration analysis procedure for establishing the authenticity of a work of art, and in particular about the recently discovered in Bulgaria and much discussed work by the renowned artist Jackson Pollock.
