AutoMotivateMe 2023 – meetings and discussions at the National Academy of Art

AutoMotivateMe 2023 is a platform for discussions and creative workshops for students and adolescents interested in automotive design, organised by the Department of Industrial Design at the National Academy of Art. The event is a continuation of the 2017 and 2018 forums organised by the department.
The first event of the series will take place on 23 March 2023, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, in Academia Gallery, National Academy of Art, 1 Shipka St., Sofia. For participation, register HERE
Conversations with the Business is the first panel starting at 12:00 pm. The young designers will meet a Bulgarian lady who, due to her entreprising nature, has managed to create a number of companies collaborating with the world's famous car consortia.
Boryana Georgieva will talk about the business challenges and activities related to the automotive design of the German company eder GmbH. How to prepare for the business world and what awaits students after they graduate?
During the second panel Conversations About Car Design, starting at 1:00 pm, students and pupils will meet two Bulgarians who are leading figures in the creation of some iconic car models.
Deyan Denkov has been the chief exterior car designer at Renault since 2007, and his creative opus includes realized projects with a number of awards for the models Twingo, Frenzy, Dacia Duster, Kadjar, Master, Traffic, Clio RS. It has a major role in the exterior design of the revived Alpine A110 sports car, looking for connections with the classic model from the 60s of the 20th century.
Miroslav Dimitrov will tell the audience how his childhood dream of becoming an automotive and industrial designer led him through from the Kazanlak Art School and the University of Coventry in England to the role of leading designer of some models: Alfa Romeo Disco Volante, Mustang by Charge Cars, EIDO GTR Concept, Jaguar E-Pace, Jaguar XF, Jaguar XE SV, VW Crossfox, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, Aston Martin Volante Q-Design elements, Lotus Eterne Concept, Lotus Esprit Production Car, Lotus Concept Cars for Paris Motor Show 2010. He has a great desire to pass on his life lessons to the next generation and motivate them to follow their dreams.
The aim of the panel is to motivate young pupils and students to take up the profession of "designer" as their vocation in life and to show how if one follows their dreams enough and is motivated to achieve them, one can become successful with their creative professions. The speakers will expect questions from the young participants in the discussion on the topic of car design.

The next event will take place on 24 April 2023, when Prof. Dr. Marko Lukovic, a Serbian automotive designer and lecturer at the University of Arts in Belgrade, will deliver a lecture. He will also talk about his journey of growth as a car designer, starting with winning the Peugeot Design Contest 2001, where his entry was the futuristic Moonster model. In the period 24–28 April, a creative workshop for conceptual sketches of cars will be held in theateliers of the Department of Industrial Design at the National Academy of Art under the leadership of Prof. Lukovic.
