Can technology enhance the senses and intimate connections between bodies, environments, and non-human entities? This workshop explores how electronic textiles, soft sensors, and tactile circuits can expand the ways our bodies perceive and interact with others and the world around us. Through DIY/DIWO practices and open source, participants will create interactive prototypes that reimagine the body as a living interface. Working with conductive threads, smart fabrics, cables, and circuits, we will speculate about alternative bodily technologies in post-digital networks of care and connection.
Cristina Dezi is a queer artist, designer and workshop facilitator whose practice embraces bioart, wearable technologies and speculative design through a transfeminist lens. With a background in fashion and costume design, her projects range from biomateriality and body technologies to sextech, feminist science and open-source methodologies, proposing new languages of embodiment that embrace queerness, hybridity and collective futures.
She is co-founder, together with Giulia Tomasello, of BruixesLab, a nomadic laboratory that blends wearable technology, witchcraft rituals and DIY practices to open up a critical reflection on the taboos and stigmas surrounding sexuality and gender technology.
