DA Fest is a an international festival organized by the National Academy of Art (NAA), which aims to meet the Bulgarian audience with a variety of artistic trends and research in the field of digital video, sound art, net art, multimedia performances and installations, robotics and generative systems and other interdisciplinary forms. The festival program includes an exhibition, performances, screenings, presentations and workshops that take place in different locations in the central building of the National Academy, № 1 Shipka Street in Sofia.
During the festival artists from around the world present contemporary artistic trends, research and technology and demonstrate important advances in the field of digital arts. The festival has the mission to build beneficial cultural and educational environment in the field of digital arts, creating a platform for dialogue between artists, students, researchers, teachers and critics working in this field.
The fifth edition of the Festival of Digital Arts (DA Fest) will be held from 15 to 19 September 2015.

In the previous four editions of the festival took part over 80 well-known artists and researchers from around the world, including: Mark Coniglio, Hans Tammen, Brian Knep, UBERMORGEN.COM, Derek Holzer, Don Foresta, Paul Granyon, hexler (R. J. Fischer), Max Schumacher and Hugo Saldias / posttheater, Reynald Reynol, Arno Fabre, Andy Graydon, Andrea Paciotto, Paolo Cirio, Jan Klug, Cleaning Women, Peter William Holden, Piotr Wyrzykowski, Bernd Oppl, Geumhyung Jeong, Tzeni Argiriou and many others. For most of these internationally recognized artists, that was the first appearance in Bulgaria, and the meeting with the Bulgarian audience was phenomenal and left very pleasant impressions and memory with them as well.
Bulgarian artists working in the field of digital arts also take part in the festival and have the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with their foreign colleagues: Nina Kovacheva and Valentin Stefanov, Dilmana Yordanova and Mihaela Kavdanska (KOTKIVisuals), Svetlana Mircheva, Simeon Yanchev, Sibin Vassilev, Visual Laboratory Phormatik, Blubalu, Andronia Popova, Konstantin Petrov (KEi), 1000 names and many other.
Important participants in the event were students of the National Academy of Art, with an interest in digital art. In the program of the festival made their debut Albena Baeva (Runabout Project), Yana Krachunova, Petko Tanchev, Angel Chobanov and many other graduates of the Master's program Digital Arts of the Academy.
