2020.10.21

19 – 31 October 2020

Vernissage 19 October 2020, 05:00 pm - 07:00 pm

Printmaking is one of the oldest specialities at the National Academy of Art, existing almost since the establishment of the State School of Drawing in 1896. The exhibition is the first attempt to trace the individual periods of the long history of the discipline Printmaking. It presents more than 100 works from the Museum Collection of the National Academy of Art and the archives of the Department of Printmaking, and private works of graduates and teachers.

A major part of the presented works - educational tasks - from the Museum Collection have not been shown or published so far. The exhibition team offers the audience a visual story about the development of the discipline through its graduates‘ educational works kept over time. The focus is the last stage of the modern history of the speciality presented through selected works of the current teaching staff, as well as works of current students and recent graduates with successful realisation in the field of printmaking. The accompanying catalogue to a great extent reproduces the exhibition visually.
