On 2 March 2023, at 6:00 pm, the exhibition Painting and Photography by of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rossen Toshev, presenting works created in the period 2000–2022, will be opened at Atelier Gallery, National Academy of Art – Burgas Branch.
Rossen Toshev's painting has a clear focus on the visual concreteness of photorealism. The painting cycles and individual canvases of the artist are to a large extent symbolic of his previous work and bear the philosophical characteristics of his understanding of the picture and the way to its creation. In the field of photography, Rossen Toshev's interests, along with the interpretation of photographic imagery and the direct pictorial intervention in it, are a major part of the plastic language he uses in the realisation of a number of his projects.
The exhibition can be viewed until 26 March 2023.
