Festival of Young People in Art
On 14 October 2020, at 06:00 pm, Atelier Gallery at the National Academy of Art - Burgas Branch will host the opening of the Festival of Young People in Art, which will bring together pupils, students, teachers and lecturers. The festival will take place from 14 to 17 October 2020 in Burgas. Co-organisers are the National Academy of Art (NAA), the NAA branch in Burgas and the Municipality of Burgas. The project is part of the Academy’s programme for scientific and artistic-creative activities 2020.
The opening of the festival will happen in the environment of the students' exhibition - Poster and Visual Communication students presenting their project designs of а visual communication system for St. Anastasia Tourist Complex.
The non-conventional plein air for painted art within the festival will involve pupils from Burgas schools offering specialised education in art: Secondary School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius” and National School of Music and Stage Art “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”, with Vanya Apostolova and Atanas Stoyanov as team leaders.
Lecturers at the painting plein air will be Prof. Svetozar Benchev, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zdravka Vasileva and Asst. Prof. Vasil Kolev from the National Academy of Art. Students from the NAA branch in Burgas will also participate.
All the participants will paint outdoors in the publicly accessible area of Burgas Port and on St. Anastasia Island. The programme also includes an art tour to locations with impressive town houses - architectural masterpieces. The participants will then convey them into their own paintings.
"The works of all the participants, regardless of their level of professional training, will be exhibited on 3 large wall panels and arranged as a puzzle," explained Prof. Svetozar Benchev, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the National Academy of Art.
The festival programme includes literary texts reading and a cinema class as part of this year's edition of Sofia International Film Festival - Sofia Film Fest on the Beach.
The festival will end with the opening of a joint exhibition outside DAS Marina Burgas Hotel at 05:00 pm on 17 October.
