TEN YEARS OF STUDENT PLEIN AIR „IN THE SPIRIT OF THE MASTER'S WORK“

Museum House „Vladimir Dimitrov – the Master“
Vladimir Dimitrov – the Master Art Gallery, Kyustendil, is the initiator of the Student Plein Air „In the Spirit of the Master“, which was launched in 2014. For a tenth year in a row, students from the National Academy of Art will draw inspiration from the beautiful nature of the Zemen Gorge, the Skakavitsa Waterfall and the Kyustendil Field. What has been created there, following the footsteps of the Painter, will be presented in the museum house in the village of Shishkovtsi.
The official start of the plein air is on 6 June 2023, 6:00 pm, in the Museum House „Vladimir Dimitrov – the Master“. Immediately afterwards, at 6:30 pm, the students will participate in the meeting „Poetry and Music near Struma River“ where they will get acquainted with the creative work of Kyustendil poets and musical performers, organised by Asclepion 1998 Community Centre in Kyustendil.
On 15 June, at 6:00 pm, in Hisarlаka country area will take place the presentation of the second creation stage of the plastic ensemble „Mushroom“ – a sculpture with specific functions, realised by students from the Department of Sculpture. At 7:30 pm on the same day, an exhibition of paintings, prints and drawings by students will be opened in the Museum House in the village of Shishkovtsi. One student from the Department of Art Studies will participate in the plein air opening event with an essay.
The student plein air is financed under the programme for Scientific, Creative and Artistic Activities of the National Academy of Art. Co-organisers are Kyustendil Municipality, Shishkovtsi Town Hall, and Vladimir Dimitrov – the Master Art Gallery.
