IX Art Simposium Sculpture in Wood – Pamporovo 2023

In Pamporovo, the ninth edition of the Woodcarving Symposium "Sculpture in Wood" was held from 21 July to 1 August 2023. For 12 days, teachers and students from the Department of Woodcarving at the National Academy of Art, together with their fellow students from Turkey, Serbia and North Macedonia, created sculptural works on the territory of the resort complex.
Participants: Prof. Petar Bonev, Head of the Department of Woodcarving, Prof. Valentin Lilov, Asst. Prof. Lyubomir Grigorov, PhD, doctoral student Plamen Atanasov, Simeon Lazarov, Nikola Milenov, Boycho Vladimirov, Denitsa Hristova, Vladimir Petkov, Lora Dankova, Miglena Alexandrova, Petar Kirchev, as well as guests from abroad – Prof. Hanife Deniz, Turkey, Prof. Dragan Rajcic, Serbia, and Prof. Slobodan Milosevski, North Macedonia.
The Sculpture in Wood Symposium is a joint project of the Department of Woodcarving at the National Academy of Art and Pamporovo JSC. The head of the project is Prof. Petar Bonev. The beginning of the project was set in 2013, when students and teachers were invited to Pamporovo to create works for a sculpture park in the resort complex to mark of its 80th anniversary.
