The National Academy of Art and IKEA Bulgaria are joining forces in the innovative project "Reforms: Creative Design Laboratory". This collaboration brings to the fore the topics of circular economy and sustainable design, challenging young artists to rethink the functionality of everyday products. Students from the Department of Industrial Design, Sub-Department of Ceramics and Sub=Department of Porcelain and Glass Design at the National Academy of Art participate in the creative laboratory. Through the methods of redesign and the concept of "ready-made", the students explore how a mass product can have a new identity and become a work of art.
As part of the project programme, a lecture and discussion on the topic of IKEA Design has been organised for the students at the National Academy of Art. Maya Velyanova, Head of Design and Communications at IKEA Bulgaria, Yoana Tsoneva, Marketing Manager of IKEA Bulgaria, and Kristina Prodanova and Juliana Tsvetkova, marketing experts of the company, will share their experience and inspiration with the students.
During the meeting, IKEA experts will examine four key topics from the philosophy and practice of the Swedish brand. The lecture will cover the concept "LAGOM – not too much, not too little, just enough", as well as the principles set out in "Design for a Circular Future – IKEA Product Design". The specifics of "Design by IKEA of Sweden and Design Collaborations" will be presented, while the final topic will be dedicated to The Bulgarian Trace and Curious Stories from the IKEA Museum.
