New York artist Joseph Cavalieri will present a lecture on his art background from when he started working as an Art Director for magazines in New York City to his most current glass and painting projects. He will include many tips and advice as well as a question and answer after the talk.
Joseph Cavalieri worked as an Art Director for over twenty years at Condé Nast and Hearst Publications in Manhattan before becoming an artist and educator. Cavalieri’s art can be found in the permanent collection of the Museum of Arts and Design, the Italian American Museum, the Leslie-Lohman Museum, and the Stax Museum. His public art commissions include a MTA Arts for Transit public art installation in New York, and a six-foot-round stained glass window at Our Lady of Sorrow Church on the island of Itaparica, in Brazil.
He has been invited to seventeen art residencies in the US, South America, Israel, Europe, Australia and India, including the Open Studio Program at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City.
His teaching credentials include over fifty workshops in the USA, Bulgaria, Israel, South America and Europe, including Corning Glass and Pilchuck Glass School in Washington state. These master classes include lectures on “Marketing for Artists”, as well as “Advice on Art Residencies”.
