The National Academy of Art invites its students to participate in the upcoming third edition of the multidisciplinary student programme "Gen I – Generation Innovation".

The initiative has been created and is managed by Schwarz Digits Bulgaria. After the first two project editions – in Varna (2024) and Plovdiv (2025) – in Sofia the programme unites 8 higher education institutions: Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Technical University – Sofia, University of National and World Economy, University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, Medical University – Sofia, University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts "Krustyo Sarafov", and National Academy of Art.
 
Gen I is a 3-month practical format based on the Design Thinking methodology (modeled after Stanford d.school) and the principles of interdisciplinary cooperation. Students with different profiles – from visual arts and design to engineering, exact sciences and humanities – work in joint teams on real-life cases with the mentoring support of leading companies and experts from the Schwarz Digits team.
 
Participation provides an opportunity to gain experience in a multidisciplinary environment and to master methods for structured innovative thinking and direct contact with professionals. For the period of the program, the participants receive a monthly scholarship (vouchers) to the amount of EUR 100 and a certificate of successful completion, while EUR 5,000 prize fund is provided for the winning team.
 
All students of the National Academy of Art can apply to participate in the programme, regardless of their academic speciality and educational degree.
