Summer Academy for Children and School Students 2023 in BURGAS

2023.06.01

26 June – 21 July 2023

The project "Summer Academy for Children and School Students" at the National Academy of Art – Burgas Branch 2023 is implemented with the support of Burgas Municipality.

The National Academy of Art invites the children of Burgas to participate in the fifth edition of the Summer Academy for Children and School Students at the Burgas Branch. This is an already established cultural and educational project of the National Academy of Art. In the summer of 2023, we will again dock with our colourful little ship in the Port of Burgas at Magaziya 1.

"Children will once again have the opportunity to be creators under the guidance of our students and teachers in partnership with prominent artists who will offer unforgettable encounters with fine arts," says the project manager Maria Landova.

From 26 June to 21 July 2023, the Summer Academy for Children and School Students in Burgas will open its ateliers for the youngest – aged 6 to 10, for the older ones – aged 11 to 15, and for the "biggest" – aged 15 to 19 who will be offered classes in computer-aided design and academic drawing in the last week of July.

Every day, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, the youngest academics will participate in colourful adventures through various creative activities in the ateliers of the National Academy of Art – Burgas Branch, in the Sea Garden, in the Printmaking Base, on the territory of the Cultural Center Sea Casino, in the library and the museums of Burgas. Children will draw, model, visit museums and galleries, and have fun.

The program includes creative activities throughout the day in the specialised ateliers for: Academic Drawing; Painting; Monotype and Collage; Printmaking; Sculpture; Ceramics; Poster – Visual Fantasy; Illustration – Authorship Book; Comic Strips; Mosaic – Natural Materials; Dolls House Workshop on Making Paper Dolls; Fashion and Textiles; Painted Ceramics – Icons on Glass and Ceramics; Plein Air for Sea and Urban Landscapes, Sand Sculptures, and many other surprises.

The programme includes meetings with Burgas artists and working with the unique and ancient Arab technique Ebru – painting on water.

In 2023, the creative programme of the summer academy is dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of the epoch-making Bulgarian illustrator Lyuben Zidarov, who has illustrated all the Bulgarian and world classics for children.

Every Friday, rich cultural programme activities will take place: visits and painting in the museums and galleries of Burgas, meetings with artists and workshops, as well as an art excursion.

At the end of the period, the little artists will arrange their own exhibition with the best works in Atelier Gallery of the National Academy of Art – Burgas Branch, Magazia 1, Burgas Port Complex. Then, those young academics who have completed the entire training course will receive diplomas.
