Department of Textiles – Art and Design presents its 60th anniversary catalogue at Academia Gallery

On 4 April 2023 (Tues), at 6:00 pm, in Academia Gallery, the Department of Textiles – Art and Design at the National Academy of Art will present its first anniversary edition TEXTILES AT THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF ART FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE PRESENT (1898–2020) • 60 YEARS SINCE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE TEXTILE DEPARTMENT IN ITS MODERN FORM. This edition is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the start of the Department dealing with textiles as art and design in its modern form, the foundations of which were laid in schools teaching design and textile techniques immediately after the opening of the National Academy of Art as State School of Drawing in 1896. The focus is on the last 10 years of education and the accompanying extracurriculum events.
THE PUBLICATION IS REALISED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE OPEN COMPETITION FOR SCIENTIFIC AND ARTISTIC ACTIVITIES AT THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF ART FOR YEAR 2020 AND 2021.
