The National Academy of Art and the Municipality of Pomorie signed a cooperation and joint activity agreement
On 23 September 2026, in the Atelier Gallery at the Burgas Branch of the National Academy of Art, the Rector of the Academy, Prof. Georgi Iankov, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Pomorie, Mr Ivan Aleksiev, signed an official agreement for cooperation and joint activities. This act marks the beginning of a five-year partnership aiming at promoting Bulgarian art and increasing the access to culture for the town’s residents and visitors.
Through its professors, doctoral candidates and students, the Academy will support cultural life in Pomorie by organising exhibitions, educational programmes for children and youth, and events together with the Dechko Stoev Art Gallery. Expert assistance from the National Academy of Art is also planned in the preservation and restoration of cultural monuments, as well as in the development of visual branding for local initiatives. For its part, the Municipality of Pomorie will provide appropriate spaces, logistics and funding for the implementation of the joint events. A special emphasis in the cooperation is the creative development of young talents through open-air workshops, seminars, student internships and summer practices, as well as joint participation in national and international projects on preservation of cultural heritage.
