The National Academy of Art will participate with own expo stands in the 20th edition of the international EXPOMEBEL 2026 exhibition

The National Academy of Art will take part in the 20th anniversary edition of the international exhibition for architecture, interior and design EXPOMEBEL, which will be held from 31 March to 3 April 2026 at Inter Expo Center, Sofia.
The Academy will be represented by the departments of the Faculty of Applied Arts and Design – Woodcarving, Industrial Design, Design for Children's Environment, and Textile – Art and Design, whose projects will be exhibited at stands D7 and D9 in Hall 2. The Academy will show a variety of student works and projects, including study works and realisations, sculptures, reliefs, art furniture and functional furniture made of wood; semester and diploma projects of furniture for residential and public environments; panel boards with design projects, interior projects and children's furniture; design and implementation in digital printing and screen printing material for interiors, as well as hand-woven bedding fabrics and cloths.
The Academy's presentation is emphasised by its active presence in the accompanying programme of the international forum. On 31 March, the official award ceremony for the "Bulgarian Furniture of the Year" competition will take place, in which students from the Bulgarian Academy Arts participate in the setion "Students" and the categories "Realised Design" and "Conceptual Design".
On 3 April (Friday), at 11:00 am, Assoc. Prof. Raya Gaytandzhieva, PhD, and Asst. Prof. Petya Blagoeva, PhD, from the Department of Design for Children's Environment will give a lecture on the topic "Synthesis of Furniture and Graphic Imagery in the Children's Environment".
EXPOMEBEL celebrates its 20th anniversary edition, establishing itself as an international specialised exhibition for all types of furniture and interior textiles, as well as a major platform for generating new ideas in interior design and architecture. The exhibition brings together different styles in one place – from classic furniture to boutique and designer furniture, providing an opportunity for direct contact with leading manufacturers and representatives of foreign brands.
The international exhibition TECHNOMEBEL presents the latest technologies, machines and materials for the furniture industry. The joint holding of both formats at one location allows to trace the path of design – from innovative materials and technologies to the final design product.
